CORWADO — the Consortium of Rural Women for Agribusiness Development Organization — is a women-led national non-governmental organization (NNGO) founded in 2022 and legally registered with the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) under Registration Number 5164. CORWADO operates across multiple states in South Sudan with a mandate to empower rural communities, particularly women, girls, and youth.

CORWADO applies an integrated Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus approach — combining timely lifesaving humanitarian assistance with long-term systems strengthening, economic recovery, and social cohesion. All programming is locally led, conflict-sensitive, gender-transformative, and climate-resilient.

CORWADO delivers integrated programming across 11 thematic areas: resilient food security and livelihoods; inclusive market systems development; gender equality and women's empowerment; WASH and climate-resilient basic services; climate adaptation and DRR; peacebuilding and social cohesion; protection and GBV prevention; education, skills, and youth employment; humanitarian preparedness and early recovery; advocacy and policy influence; and organizational effectiveness and partnerships.

CORWADO partners with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Norwegian Embassy, CAFOD & Trócaire, UNDP, IFAD, GIZ, German Cooperation, CARE International, Cordaid, the European Union, the South Sudan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, and Food for the Hungry (FH) International, among others.

CORWADO is headquartered in Juba, South Sudan, and delivers programming across multiple states including Eastern Equatoria (Magwi County), Western Bahr el Ghazal, Upper Nile (Renk County), Eastern Equatoria (Kapoeta and Budi Counties), and Eastern and Northern Bahr el Ghazal.
